New partner to strengthen HD Corporate Finance and International Transactions practices
Friday July 5th, 2019
Honorato | Delaveau recently welcomed attorney Matías Langevin Correa as the new partner who is to lead their Corporate Finance and International Transaction practices. He brings years of experience in operations financing, M&A, and capital markets.
Matías received his LL.B. from Universidad de Los Andes—where he later taught Economic Law (2011-2017)—, and an LL.M. from Duke University. He is a member of the International Bar Association, and Officer of its Banking Law Committee as of 2016. Previous to joining Honorato | Delaveau Matías worked at Morales & Besa law firm since 2004. He was made partner in 2012 after working for two years as international associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York.
Commenting, Sebastián Delpiano, managing partner at Honorato | Delaveau, said: “Matías’ appointment is related to the natural expansion achieved by our office since its establishment almost five years ago. Current legal industry trends are specialization, and increased internationalization. Matías will add his vast experience in both.”
He said as well that “some of the partners have known him since our university years, therefore discussions on his appointment were quite spontaneous, and decisions easy to make. We shared the same vision on how to address the important evolution lately seen in the legal industry.”
Matías Langevin Correa mentioned in turn that “to be part of the Honorato | Delaveau team is an honor and a tremendous challenge with regards to my professional advancement. I hope to capitalize 15 years of legal expertise in corporate finance, specifically in M&A, financing and transactions in international capital markets, while contributing to the firm’s organic growth and collaborating to the firm’s position consolidation in the legal market, locally and internationally.”
Partner Gonzalo Delaveau noted: “We are convinced that significant changes in the way of working are taking place in the legal industry, and that more are to come. Clients with needs expect fast and precise answers, but only years of professional experience allow you to provide adequate solutions. By promoting the firm’s partners permanent involvement, we prioritize experience over hiring a huge number of lawyers. Our working structure is different from that of other law offices.”
